World book Day 2025

There was a great buzz around the school for World Book Day! The children and staff all dressed up as their favourite book characters. We had lots of activities on the day- colouring/ book review competition, kahoot quizzes, Buddy Reading and lots more!

4th class Explanatory writing

4th class have been focusing on explanation writing. They have used the life cycle of the Sea turtle to complete a piece of writing. Did you know that turtles lived in the dinosaur age 120 million years ago?! Also they can lay 150 eggs at a time!

Lá Glas in 4th class

We have had great fun in 4th class for Lá Glas. The children dressed up in green, painted shamrocks, sang as gaeilge in our school concert!

Junior Achievement Ireland

Ms Hackett’s 4th class recently participated in Junior Achievement Ireland’s, programme, sponsered by AIB, It’s My Business’. Students experienced the initial steps necessary to start a business as they identify their own entrepreneurial characteristics, developed a business start up from it’s ideation, innovation and market research through to pitching their new ideas to potential funders. 4th Class school library visit

Huge thanks to you the library team for making the school library so fabulous! It’s a fantastic addition to our school, with a large range of reading materials available to the children. They are loving visiting the library and taking out their weekly books. Check out our photos below! .

4th Class STEM Challenge

The Big Marshmallow Tower Challenge is a favourite Math and Engineering STEM activity for teachers and students around the world. The objective of this challenge is for students to apply their knowledge of geometry to design and build structurally sound towers using nothing but marshmallows and spaghetti. It was great fun and very messy! .

2nd Class Autumn Nature Walk

Procedural writing in 2nd class

The children in Ms Hackett’s class have been busy working on procedural writing. Lovely to see them working together as part of a team and then presenting their work to the class!

2nd Class (Ms Hackett) Heat Changing Slime

We made heat sensitive colour changing slime. The slime is made using thermochromic pigment allowing it to change colour based on the temperature of the slime.
