There are 6 strands in the P.E Curriculum:

  • Games
  • Dance
  • Aquatics
  • Outdoor & Adventure
  • Gymnastics
  • Athletics

Each class covers at least 5 out of the 6 strands each school year. All of our teachers follow the same P.E Timetable for the year. Swimming lessons are taught for a minimum of 8 weeks as timetabled for each class, from 1st class up.

Each class receives at least one hour of timetabled P.E each week.

Teachers use PSSI lesson plans to guide their planning for PE throughout the year. Click on the image below to take a look at the PSSI webpages…

Athletics Focus

We are focusing on Athletics this school year. Children have at least one lesson in Athletics per month to practice Athletics skills and learn a fun new game that is then played during break times. This game is changed every two weeks to make sure it’s always fun. Our student Active Schools Team has been doing a wonderful job in promoting these yard games, as well as setting them up each day.

Since moving to our new school buildings, every class is having great fun participating in our Athletics based playground games!

Visit from Stephanie Roche

There was great excitement when Stephanie Roche visited us in June! She answered lots of questions from all the students and gave great advice to anyone who wants to become a famous footballer one day. We hope to invite her back again soon!
