In the junior Cedars class we have been learning how to play a variety of board games in pairs, small groups and as a whole class.
One of the games we have really enjoyed is the socially speaking game. This specific game focuses on social interaction in three areas; home, school and the wider community. Each child is given the opportunity to practise skills such as, turn-taking, listening, asking questions, converting emotions, self expression and making calls or requests. This is a great tool to model and discuss what we can say and do in a variety of social situations.
