Yesterday (19-09-2019) fifth and sixth class girls played a GAA blitz. On Wednesday we did some drills during yard time with Ms. McCarthy in preparation for the blitz. Yesterday we brought a small bag with us for our lunch, gum shield and our football boots (if we had them). We walked to Bray Emmets where we played four matches with four other schools. We played against Kilmacanogue (2 teams), St. Fergals and Moneystown. At the end of the day Ms. McCarthy told us how well we had improved on our skills, our gameplay and most of all our tackling. She said that she could really see a difference in how we played from our first match to our last.
We felt really excited for the match, and we enjoyed it even more than we thought we would. We all felt really tired after of course, but we want to do it again. It even pushed us to play for our local teams & join the club in our school.
