We were very lucky to have Aoife Munn, from the Department of Environment, working with 3rd and 4th Class. She taught us about plants and animals in Ireland and recycling. We went on nature walks, completed an animal project, grew seeds, made posters to encourage our community to be more aware of recycling and made soap from natural ingredients.
During our work on our animal projects Aoife helped us to learn about the size of the animals we were learning about. We used our Maths skills to measure and make a visual representation of how long a whale would be. A whale would be far to big to fit into our classroom so we had to use the corridor.
