One Book, One Community 2019/2020

We are making great use of the school library space for reading our One Book, One Community book!

5th & 6th class are taking part in the One Book, One Community project again this year. The initiative is organised collectively by the Home School Community Liaison Coordinators in Ravenswell Primary school, St. Kilian’s Community School, St. Fergal’s National School, St. Peter’s Primary School, and Newtown National School. This is the 10th year of the annual literacy initiative in Bray and the chosen book is ‘’Greta’s Story’, by Valentina Camerini.

The idea behind the initiative is to try and get as many young people and adults reading and discussing the same book in a local community. We have made great progress with the book so far, the children are thoroughly enjoying it and it is also a great discussion point on the very relevant topic of climate change.

Keep an eye on our school blog to see what other activities we get up to during our One Book, One Community project this year!
