  • How to operate a washing machine
  • How to use a dryer
  • How to hang clothes on a washing line/clothes horse
  • Learn how to tie your shoe laces
  • Complete at least 2 chores for your parents each day
  • Learn how to use a vacuum/hoover
  • Learn how to prepare a nutritious meal
  • Interview a family member about their favourite memory
  • Get at least 10 minutes of vigorous exercise every day
  • Learn how to wash and dry the dishes
  • Learn one new recipe
  • Learn how to freeze/defrost food safely
  • Learn how to fold a jumper and trousers properly
  • Learn how to do basic first aid – how to clean a cut, when to use a bandage
  • Learn how to budget pocket money
  • Learn how to put together a shopping list
  • Learn how to chop vegetables
  • Learn how to switch appliances off safely.
  • Learn how to make your own bed
  • Learn how to change your own bed sheets
  • Learn how to fill/empty the dishwasher or dry and put away cups and plates etc.
  • Learn how to read a map and plan out a journey (Use google maps or an atlas)
  • Get the whole family together to make up a Media Plan – this is a list of when and where everyone is allowed to use their phones and devices. Make sure everyone agrees and signs their name onto the  Media Plan.
  • You are the teacher: Teach your parent/guardian all about your favourite app. Give them a test to see what they learned. Have fun with it!

  • Choose your favourite movie character and design a poster for a new movie
  • Watch a show in Irish on TG4 Player for 10 mins every day and write down 3 things that happened in the show.
  • Think of your favourite video or board game. Write out the rules that you need to know in order to play the game.
  • Design a new board game with simple rules.
  • Read a book or novel and write a book review.
  • Redesign the front cover of your favourite book.
  • Watch RTÉ News Today and write down three things you are grateful for.
  • Think of someone who would like to make a card for (birthday, thank you, get well soon, Happy Easter etc.)
  • Imagine you are a News Reporter for RTÉ News. Record a news report on a phone explaining all about Covid-19 (Corona Virus). Remember to only use facts – research other news reports first!

  • Try a daily Go Noodle activity. A huge selection of free videos, including dancing, exercise, meditation, reflection activities. Something for everyone.
  • Explore KIDZ ZONE on the school website. We have collected a wide variety of websites and activities, covering all subject areas.
  • Sign up for the free 1 month trial of Nessy. Nessy programs are designed to help students of all abilities learn to read, write, spell and type. Visit https://www.nessy.com/uk/
  • Sign up for the Prodigy Maths programme. This is a free maths challenge game suitable for pupils from 1st to 6th class. https://www.prodigygame.com/
  • Teach yourself some coding. Hour of code gives access to a wide range of coding activities for all levels. Many are free (some require a subscription). https://hourofcode.com/ie/learn

  • Create a presentation on something that interests you. You could use PowerPoint, Google Slides or Prezi
