Last year, parents were invited to take part in the Primary School Survey, released by the Department of Education and Youth, which asked about the type of patronage they would prefer for our school.
We have 328 families in our school. 26% of families responded to the original survey – approximately 85 families. Of those who responded, 69% (approximately 59 families) said they would prefer the school to move from Catholic to multi-denominational patronage, while 31% (approximately 26 families) preferred to remain under Catholic patronage.
No decision has been made yet to change our school’s patronage. The survey result simply means that we now need to talk to our wider school community and consider what is best for our school going forward. We are now inviting members of the school and the wider community to give us their feedback and express their preferences regarding the future patronage of Ravenswell School.
