Term 1 in Ms. Mulcahy’s Junior Infants

We have been working very hard in Junior Infants. During last term we spent a lot of time learning about ‘Bia’ (food) in Irish. We completed many fun activities but we really enjoyed making our lunch boxes. We had to listen out and see what foods were meant to be in our lunch box that day and work in partners to pop them in.

We have also started our literacy stations. We have been working hard learning our sight words and these games help us to practise identifying them. We play fly swatters, this game we have a caller who calls a word and then we have to swat the word they called. We practise our writing during literacy stations and also play a fun game called BOOM!

Aistear was great fun last term. We had a lot of themes to get through but we mostly enjoyed Santa’s workshop and the doctors surgery. Have a look at the pictures to see what we got up to.

At the end of the term the man himself came to see us! We loved it, he even brought us a present! We also had a party and watched a great movie!
